A great walk to the cave about 1.5 km on a steady uphill footpath through a forest to then a narrow steep decline to a pebble beach to caves which allegedly Robert The Bruce hid in and saw the spider. King's Cave (Scottish Gaelic: Uamh an Rìgh) is the largest of a series of seafront caves north of Blackwaterfoot on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. The caves were formed around 10,000 to 6,000 years ago during an ice age when the weight of an advancing glacier forced the land downward, so the sea was higher relative to the location of the cave.

The walk starts from a signed forestry car park 3km north of Blackwaterfoot. Begin by heading along the path from the right hand corner, past the sign.
